Brand Refresh
Our goal with this brand refresh was to provide an experience that was elevated in every aspect – colors, typography, photography, user-experience and overall lasting impression. The previous brand of Rainier Place was reflecting misguided shapes and textures, dated typography and it lacked a user-experience that would effectively drive traffic to the building. We stripped this brand down, showcasing a simple, modern and sophisticated logo. The color palette was toned down to highlight and embrace the relationship between Edmonds College and Rainier Place. The typography was simplified, creating an easy-to-read landscape of storytelling and details while the photography was reinforced by lifestyle imagery and people in the spaces. Overall, the brand transformed into a story and a place to draw users in to discover and learn more.

We faced the seemingly impossible task of creating a voice that was relatable to college students, informative for parents, and fun to read for both. By keeping the tone conversational and light, we communicated the essential information in a voice that was easy to read for all generations but still presented Rainier Place as both a place you’d want to live as a young adult, and a place you’d be comfortable sending your teenager.

We achieved a true blend of playful plus informative through bright pops of color, straightforward photography, and interactive icons throughout the site. Because of our international audience, we strategically placed links that lead the viewer through the pages in an intentional path, presenting necessary information in a meaningful an easy to understand way for readers from all over the world.
